From all walks of life

Some folks are born artists and some make their way to it over time.  Carol Troyer is  potter that found her way to pottery via painting.  New to Townsend Artisan Guild and displaying in the Gallery in Townsend we are happy to welcome Carol to our Guild.

Carol moved to East Tennessee through a promotion with her job.  Now happily retired she is enjoying pottery and gardening.  We at TAG think Carol found the perfect place to combine her love of nature and art!

When asked what was most challenging with pottery she stated glazes are a challenge and you never know how they will interact.  The most frustrating part of being a pottery artist is having a vision in mind of what a piece should look like with paint but the glaze doesn’t turn out that way.  Having a background in painting is evident in the intricacies and detail of her colors and application.

TAG welcomes Carol to Townsend Artisan Guild and Gallery and encourage everyone to stop by the Gallery located at 321 Lamar Alexander Parkway, Townsend, TN to view Carol’s beautiful pottery.

  1. I love Carol’s pottery. It’s so fun and a bit whimsical. Cats seem to be her favorite animal. Come to Townsend and check it out.

  2. Carol, I’m looking forward to seeing your new works as you have more time for your art! I’ll be checking for your new work at the Gallery
